Talk to Me Directors Have Met With Marvel for Mystery Project

Following their successful partnership with Avengers Endgame directors Anthony and Joe Russo, Marvel Studios may have found their next sibling directing duo in the form of rising horror filmmakers Danny and Michael Philippou.

The Australian directors gained recognition for their feature-length directorial debut movie Talk to Me, which became A24’s highest-grossing horror movie with a worldwide gross of $92 million against a reported budget of around $4.5 million.

Talk to Me directors on meeting with Marvel

During a recent interview, while talking about their potential Hollywood plans, the Philippou brothers shared that they have recently met with Marvel Studios.

The Talk to Me directors are currently preparing for the impending theatrical release of their next A24 horror movie Bring Her Back. They are once again directing from a screenplay written by Danny Philippou and Bill Hinzman. The ensemble cast includes Sally Hawkins, Billy Barratt, Stephen Phillips, Sally-Anne Upton, Jonah Wren Phillips, Olga Miller, Mischa Heywood, Liam Damons, Alina Bellchambers, among others. The movie is slated to premiere on May 30, 2025.

At the moment, the Philippou brothers are also currently developing a sequel to Talk to Me. In a previous interview, they confirmed that they’d already written a few scenes for the project, while working on the first installment. Talk 2 Me will once again directed by the Philippou brothers, with Hinzman also co-writing the sequel. The directing duo were also previously attached to direct the new live-action Street Fighter movie. However, due to scheduling conflicts, they exited the high-profile project, which would have been their first time directing a movie with a blockbuster budget.
