Additionally, Williams referred to people who labeled her “dramatic” after her speech on Project 2025 from the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Festival. She stated that the project has already begun to be enacted. The “Decode” singer said that not just she but more women are scared.
Williams further explained why she was posting the video. She said, “The reason that I’m doing this, uh, there’s gonna have to be some extreme allyship when it comes to, you know, the way that this administration is talking about women, that’s just, just the issue of women and reproductive rights and all of that is terrifying.”
The musician also referred to Donald Trump’s speech from the Women’s History Month event and called it “chilling.” According to Sky News, at the event, he addressed female members of Congress. Trump said, “We’re going to have tremendous goodies in the bag for women, too. The women, between the fertilization and all of the other things that we’re talking about, it’s going to be great. I’ll be known as the fertilization president, and that’s not bad.”
While concluding her speech, Williams asserted, “We need allies. And women aren’t the only ones to need allies.” She also mentioned JD Vance and Elon Musk in her speech and stated that their comments made women sound “like we’re just f—— factories.”
Furthermore, Hayley Williams urged men to “show up” if they believed women deserved rights.
